Women Over 60 Are Gaining Visibility
I’m seeing more and more websites, online businesses, blogs, articles, etc. focused on we women of a certain age. It seems more and more of us women over 50 are stepping out and speaking up, or we're joining in with those who are.
Here are just a few sites I've recently come across that I encourage you to check out.
Next Tribe is a travel and events company for women 45+. They want to be “the voice for smart bold women over 45.”
(Hmmmmm. BOLD women?) Wonder where they got that idea :-)
Lustre’s mission is to redefine retirement for modern career women by raising our collective voices to ensure that retirement for all of us is shaped by women, for women.

You’ve never been retired before.
THE worst thing you can do right after you retire is … commit - to anything.
Happiness & purpose go hand-in-hand. Are you struggling to find fulfillment and a sense of purpose in your post-career life? If so, you'd probably say that you're struggling to find happiness in your retirement, too. But, there's a theory that suggests that happiness actually INCREASES with age. You may initially scoff at this theory, but stick with me. It actually makes sense.
Does this sound familiar? After the honeymoon phase of retirement wears off, you start feeling like something is missing from your life. It’s not the money, or the work itself, but missing more of a sense of purpose. It's not uncommon to feel this way. You might say that you need to “ find your new purpose ”. But, I’m going to challenge you to think about it differently. An ADVERB not NOUN Rather than looking to FIND your purpose, try committing to LIVE with purpose . I used to consider purpose as something to pursue, like a job title or an award. But now I believe the true purpose is deeper and more personal than that. Purpose is a lifestyle, a way of being in the world where you fully engage with the present moment, which enables you to better recognize and make the most of every opportunity. Your purpose isn’t any one specific activity or event. There are the lucky few who do discover a calling, a key purpose for which they were born - or that's our perception.
Retirement is an entrepreneurial feat.
